EnergiaForum 08 in Tampere
– RENEWABLE ENERGIES IN THE SPOTLIGHT

EnergiaForum 08 is close at hand. Finland’s most important energy fair showcases the industry’s latest knowhow highlighting the most topical themes at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre in October 28–30. One of the central topics is renewable energy – now for the first time in a centralized exhibition area.

According to the energy and environmental strategy, the portion of renewable energy should be approximately a third of our energy production by 2015. Increasing the use of renewable energy that reduces greenhouse gas emissions creates a strong need for research as well as for new and more climate friendly solutions.

Advancing the use of renewable energy plays a significant role also in the EnergiaForum 08 event, at the Energia 08 Fair and the related congresses. Companies from the energy industry present themselves in the sold-out exhibition hall encompassing an area of about 1000 square meters. A centralized exhibition area for renewable energies has received very positive feedback and it has had a clear demand – exhibition space has been reserved at a record speed.

Networker of sustainable energy solutions

Technology Centre Hermia is one of the main exhibitors at the Energia 08 Fair participating in the event already for the third time. Sentre, Centre for Sustainable Energy Solutions, managed by Hermia provides a joint stand for the energy professionals of the Tampere region.

- “A joint stand gives our members a good opportunity for presenting their own energy knowhow and networking with organizations that are important particularly to them”, tells Petri Nieminen, leader of Hermia’s Energy and Environmental Team. Sentre aims at helping its member companies in networking both in the Tampere region and internationally. The projects of the network advance the development and use of sustainable energy solutions.

Technology Centre Hermia is also one of the organizers of the Pirkanmaa Energy Day. A free event arranged on Thursday, October 30, in connection with the energy fair introduces to the exhibition guests interesting presenters and forerunners of their own field. Under the theme ”From words to deeds”  it will be discussed during the day how renewable energy forms could be practically utilized. Related to the Pirkanmaa Energy Day, exhibition guests are provided an opportunity to visit heating companies of the province.

10th Energy Fair

EnergiaForum 08, arranged at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, is Finland’s most important event in the energy industry. The programme includes the Energia 08 Fair, the traditional Energy Day and Energy Congress as well as a series of seminars and presentations. This autumn the energy fair celebrates its 10th jubilee year. It is a significant meeting forum for the energy professionals gathering the decision-makers, experts and other influential persons from the industry. Topical themes include energy saving and energy-efficiency, renewable energy forms, nuclear energy, emission trade, refuse burning solutions and recycled fuels. The participators amount to 250 exhibitors.
