Emissions trading, waste combustion
and small-scale energy solutions
new themes at the Energy 2006 fair

The year’s most important event for the Finnish energy sector will be arranged at the Tampere Exhibition Centre’s Pirkka Hall in October 2006. EnergiaForum 2006 is an event totality formed by the Energia (Energy) 2006 fair, the traditional Energiapäivä (Energy Day) and the Energia (Energy) Congress as well as other seminars and briefings. The organisers Expomark Oy and KP-Media Oy are backed by the Energy Forum of Finland and the Finnish Maintenance Society.

Both industry and SMEs are looking for new ideas to complement traditional energy solutions. One of the central themes of discussion at the EnergyForum, which is being arranged during the Finnish EU Presidency, will be the reduction of emissions and the prevention of climate change after the commitment period for the Kyoto Protocol ends.

News solutions for the energy sector on display

The Energy fair is being arranged for the ninth time and will once again bring together decision makers, experts and other influential people in the sector. A comprehensive presentation of solutions for the generation and distribution of energy as well as of the energy market will be on exhibit at Finland’s largest trade fair for the sector. A new theme at the fair is small-scale energy solutions, including heating systems, energy certification and distance-reading systems that are of interest to building managers and builders of small houses.

The main themes of the fair are the design, construction, use and maintenance of power plants. Topical themes of interest will include emissions trading, waste-burning solutions, recyclable fuels and renewable forms of energy. On display will be solutions for various forms of energy generation, electricity transmission and distribution, fuels and the combined production of electricity and heat, district heating and cooling, systems for plants, process automation, maintenance and subcontracting services, energy savings and efficiency as well as environment technology.

All events under one roof

The EnergyForum is a meeting place for industry professionals, providing them with the opportunity to make contacts with experts in the field and familiarise themselves with new technology as well as to create new cooperation ventures that increase their company’s productivity and energy-efficiency. For the first time, all of the events included in the EnergyForum will take place under the same roof with the trade fair. The new auditorium in the Pirkka Hall, which is due for completion in autumn 2006, will be the venue for the Energy Day gathering of experts and decision makers in the fields of national and international energy policy on Tuesday 24 October. This event is being arranged by the Energy Forum of Finland and the day will close with the Energy Dinner.

The following day, the Energy Congress will be arranged in Tampere for the eight time. Over 20 experts will introduce their ideas on the energy market and technology for the industry at various seminars, which will be held in Finnish.
